Expert Reply:
The Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47570 will work in the 7-way trailer socket on virtually any vehicle that has one. This item converts the 7-way connector format to three others that are in common use: 4-pole flat, 5-pole flat and 6-pole round. All of these types of trailer connectors are illustrated and explained in the linked article that covers all types of trailer wiring.
Do please note that is not a stand-alone wiring product; it requires that the vehicle already have a functioning 7-way wiring setup. If your Atlas has the connector shown in the photo I linked for you then the Hopkins adapter will work to take some of those 7-way socket signals and convert them to the other formats.
If the Atlas did not come with any type of factory- or dealer-installed trailer wiring we do offer those products too. For instance, for a basic 4-pole wiring harness for the vehicle you can use # 118754 which offers simple plug-in installation at your tail light connectors. No permanent mods to the vehicle's wiring are needed to install this. Just plug it in at the tail light connectors and run the one included power wire up to the battery and connect it using the included fuse holder. A 4-pole like this provides basic stop/turn/tail lighting functions for a trailer.
This basic setup can easily be upgraded to a 7-way connector, with the additional circuits/functions available in that format, by adding to it our # ETBC7 7-way installation kit. This plugs in to the 4-pole and allows you to make the extra circuit connections. Those additional circuits provide 12V power, trailer brake power and reverse light signals.
