Question:
Hello. My 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee has back-up-alarm sensors in the bumper. The installation video did not address sensors. Will installation have a negative impact on the sensors? Are any additional steps required during installation for bumpers containing sensors?

Expert Reply:
Installation of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75338 on the 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee does not affect the back-up-alarm sensors and will not have a negative impact on the sensors. The only affect you may notice is that when a trailer is connected to the vehicle the backup alarm may sound when the vehicle is shifted into reverse.
If your 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the OEM tow hook, most do not, it will need to be removed which will require removal of the rear fascia, plastic bumper support and tow hook. When removing these parts care must be taken not to pull or damage any wires and to unhook the connections for the back-up-alarm sensors.
To complete your towing setup you may want to consider the following items.
etrailer Ball Mount Kit, item # EBMK4
Trailer Wiring, item # 118381 with tow Package or # 118425 without
Hitch Lock, item # e98880
