Question:
Hello. I have a Thule T2 carrier. It came with 1 N101 lock cylinder for the anti rattle hitch lock. I need cylinders for the 2 rack arms. Would it be the same n101 or doesnt matter because I wont be able to match the key? I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. Also the spare tire hits the hitch when I try to open the tailgate. If I get an extension, how long should it be and do I need another anti rattle kit for that? Thanks

I have exactly what you will need to match the N101 key that came with your Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device part # THSTL2 to a locking core for the arms on your Thule T2 bike rack. The locking core you will need is the Replacement Lock Cylinder for Thule Racks and Carriers part # THLOCKN101. This locking core will use the same N101 key that came with your Thule hitch lock. You can also purchase additional keys using the Replacement Key for Thule and Sportrack Racks and Carriers part # THKEYN101.
The best option to eliminate the spare tire on your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited from making contact with the Thule T2 bike rack would be to use a swing away like the Kuat Pivot Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks part # PVP20B. A hitch extender will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50%. In order to determine the correct length you will want to look for in a hitch extender, you will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest point outward on the tailgate while open.
While using a hitch extender or the swing-away, you will need an additional hitch lock like part # THSTL2 to deter theft. However, since this is a threaded hitch lock and is currently the only hitch lock offered by Thule, the hitch pin hole on your adapter may need to be tapped for the threads on the hitch bolt.
I have attached a review video of the swing-away for you to check out as well.
