I do have a solution I think will work for you, but the CIPA Dual-View Baby Mirror, # CM49606, is not really designed for the application you need. The force of the wind as you travel would probably be enough to dislodge it. The mirror is also on the small side since it is supposed to be used inside of a vehicle.
Instead, I recommend going with a universal mirror designed for use outside of the vehicle. Take a look at Cipa Universal Door Mount Mirror, # 11650. This mirror will clamp to the door of your 1969 Buick Electra using rubber coated hooks that fit in the top of the door and bottom of the door. I have included a link to a video review of this mirror for you to view.
The door mounted mirror is the best temporary solution for a mirror out of all the mirrors we carry. It will work well until you can find an OEM replacement for your Electra.
