Question:
Hello I need to add a brake controller to my 2006 coachman cross country 351ds motorhome. I believe it is prewired with a 7 way but am unsure where to find the plug in for the controller. I have looked under the dash and don’t really see anything that stands out, I read a post you did on a 2007 but a different model but don’t seem to be having any luck. I believe that I know which controller I need from you guys but not sure of which wiring harness, or if it needs to be hardwired. Thanks for your help

The brake controller that I recommend using is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it is one of our most popular brake controllers. The reason being that it is very easy to use, it doesn't require you to remember codes, the LCD screen make navigating different options very easy, plus it allows you to store settings if you have different towing applications.
To install this on your 2006 Coachmen Cross Country 351DS (which is on a Freightliner XC chassis) you can use the plug-in adapter part # 3027-P. One end will plug into the 6-pin connector in your vehicle's junction box while the other end plugs into the P3. The box is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column.
If you were looking at a different brake controller just let me know and I can let you know if there is a plug-in adapter for it.
