Is There a Difference Between Single and Dual Jaw Fifth Wheel Hitches

Updated 11/26/2017 | Published 11/25/2017

Question:

I understand the physical differences between a single jaw and a duel jaw fifth wheel hitch but Im struggling to see the benefits of one or the other when it comes to a fifth wheel hitch. Looking to buy the curt fifth wheel hitch but want to make sure its the right one for me first.

Basically you want the jaw design that provides the best king pin contact so that your ride quality is smooth and quiet.

Now Curt has their slider hitch # C16541 with a dual jaw system that also provides great king pin contact. Basically they both accomplish a very similar result but use a slightly different design to get there.

Since I am partial to Reese hitches over Curt I would recommend the # RP30083, but the A20 is a solid hitch that will work well.

I attached review videos for both hitches as well.
