Why Doesnt Roof Vent Lid Cover Allow Lid to Open All the Way

Question:
I recently bought 3 Camco vent covers and when I tried to mount them with the vent opened, the cover did not sit down on the roof of the RV. It was about 4 inches short. Which vent cover would I need to purchase? We have 3 MaxXair auto rain vents.

With the vent covers like the part # MA00-933067 they aren't designed to have the lid of the vent to be totally opened. They are designed for the vent lid to be opened at an angle. This allows the vent to move all of the air it can move but without having to make the vent lid cover super tall.
In the attached picture of the # MA00-933067 you can see that it would only allow the lid to open maybe to a 45 degree angle. Which at this point would flow just as much as if it was fully open in this application.
