For your 2013 Kia Sorento, the towing capacity is 3500 lb for the V6 models.
I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75684 for your trailer hitch receiver. This will give you a 2 inch receiver opening that will give you many more options for ball mounts and other accessories for your Sorento.
For your wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118506. This T-One connector plugs into your Kia Sorento's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse. I recommend using the mounting bracket # 18144 with # 18140 to keep your wiring secure.
For a ball mount, I recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500 lbs # 989900 to provide you with a number of towing set-up options to ensure a good fit. I've linked a help article on how to choose the correct ball mount for you.
It is a good idea to add a transmission cooler to your vehicle for towing and I don't know what after-market towing package you are referring to. I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class III - Efficient # D13503 which measures 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep.
