I have a 2004 BWW 330ci Convertible. Which Hitch is best for my car. Curt C11178 or C11174. thanks

Since your 2004 BMW 3-series is a convertible the only hitch option for it is Curt Class I hitch # C11178. Hitch # C11174 is not a fit for convertible models.
If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch.
Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements. I have linked the Class I compatible 2-bike racks and cargo carriers for you.
