Interchangeable Trailer Hitch Bike Rack for a 2010 Honda CR-V and a 2013 Toyota RAV4

Your best compatibility is going to be if both your 2013 Toyota RAV 4 and 2010 Honda CR-V have Class III trailer hitches, as this allows access to the widest range of bike racks to transfer between the two vehicles.

Picking a rack for multiple vehicles does have a few extra considerations, the weight and classes of the two vehicle's hitches.

For this situation, I tend to recommend the Saris racks, as they tend to be extremely strong, lightweight racks that are easy to pick up and move between vehicles. Additionally, the two bike models come equipped with a universal shank adapter plate, allowing you to move them between hitch sizes if you have a Class I or Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch.

If you have a Class III on both vehicles, the Saris Freedom 4 Bike, part # SA4414B is a great lightweight choice for both vehicles. Its adjustable wheel and frame cradles adjust to however your bike is set up, letting you easily fit a wide variety of bikes. The rack can carry four 35 pound bikes, and folds up tightly against the rear of the vehicle, perfect for parking or storage.

The Freedom doesn't include any security features, so you'll have to add a hitch and cable lock as part # SA984.

A newer Class III rack that's a little more adjustable is the Yakima HoldUp, part # Y02443-2. This rack is a little heavier but can adjust as much as the Freedom, plus is able to remove its rear two bike positions to convert to a two bike rack. This rack mounts to the frames of the bikes, giving you an easy way to attach the bikes quickly and easily.
