Hopkins Brake Controller Not Receiving Power 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500  

Question:

I plugged this into port 2 under the dash with the red pin in port a for the year of the vehicle and I have no power to the controller or at the 7way plug for brakes but if I unplug the plug from under the dash the test light I have power on the top right pin in port 2 with is the red wire for stop its a 2000 Chevy Silverado z71 1500 is this a different plug I need or do I need to move the pins in the plug around to make it work what are each pin names and location for the port 2

Its sounds to me like you may have connected the power (red) wire on the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter part # HM47795 into the wrong circuit. The red wire will need to be installed into the pin that has power when the brake pedal is depressed. There are only three open spaces on the pigtail in which the pin can be connected to so you will only need to test these corresponding locations on the vehicle's control panel box. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 to find the correct circuit.
