Hi, Which trailer hitch for a 500e can handle both a bike trailer and a light utility trailer, e.g hauling a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Are there any hitches for a 2-1/4 - 2 1/2 that be used?

For your 2017 Fiat 500ewe have the Curt Hitch # C11363 along with the required stabilizer strap # 18050 required by the hitch when using it for bike racks or cargo carriers. You would not use the stabilizer strap when towing. For this light duty vehicle there are only 1-1/4 inch hitches available since this is a light duty vehicle.
For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118546 which is a confirmed fit.
For a ball mount you'd want the part # 3593 and for a ball part # 19256.
