Continuous power does not mean modified or pure sine wave. If you have a specific model you are looking at, I can help further. For instance, the Power Inverter 1000 Watts with Three AC Receptacles # WC3720 says continuous power and is a Modified Sine Wave AC Output waveform. Some of the sample applications are even confusing as they are often used as Pure Sine wave applications, but based on the size are adequate.

Then the Pure Sine Wave inverter, the Wagan Elite 200 Watt PRO Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter with USB Power Port # WC2600, also says continuous and doesn't have the same list of applications but will supply a more consistent power.

Question:

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm going to need an inverter that can run some power tools like Grinder cutter 4 1/2",Hammer drill as well as some other small Rv-Van appliances.I understand watts and loads have alot to do with it.Looking around a 2000W/4000W surge.Pure Sine Wave. What do you have that will do the job and not over surge my wallet.

To get the kind of power you are looking for you will need the A-iPower 2,000-Watt Inverter Generator w/ Parallel Kit - Portable - Gas - 120V # 289-SUA2000I. This generator can also be added to in order to multiply the power. If you go that route, I recommend the A-iPower Inverter Generators w/ Parallel Kit - Portable - Gas - 120V - 3,800 Watts # 289-SUA2000I-2.

I reached out to my contact at the manufacturer and they have about as close to a pure sine wave as a generator at a decent price point can get with a 5% or less THD. That is the Total Harmonic Distortion. This will be more than adequate for your grinder, hammer drill, and small RV appliances.
