Question:
I previously purchased Item # 56146KIT and installed it on my 2005 B6 Audi S4 Avant. It worked great the 4 years I had the car. I now have a 2008 B7 Audi S4 sedan and want to make sure this kit will work just as well. The cars are very similar, but do have some differences. Thanks

For your new 2008 Audi S4 Sedan, the only trailer wiring harness we have available that is confirmed to fit is the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT. This unique harness uses zero-contact interface sensors that will identify the current flowing through each wire simply by clamping onto it. This will you allow you to install the harness without having to cut or splice into the vehicle's wiring.
The Curt Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Hardwire Kit # C59496 referenced in your question is a universal kit that is designed to work on most vehicles. We have not had a chance to physically test it on your 2008 Audi, so I cannot be sure that it will work without issue. With that in mind, the fact that it worked great on your 2006 S4 leads me to believe that it should work just as well on your 2008 model.
I have attached the installation details for both of these harnesses that you can take a look at.
