Is There a Down Side to Going to Higher than Needed Trailer Tire Load Range

Question:
I have a 2004 Viking Epic 1706 1299 lbs dry. Adding AC to it, less than 100 lbs and it has 4.80 12 bias ply tires on it now, load rating C. I want to upgrade to a radial but they are load rating D. Loaded we are still only looking at 1500-1600 lbs total so a D rated tire isnt needed. Would there be any adverse effects to running a higher rated tire? Is there another option for the tire/wheel combo?

There is no downside to going to a higher than needed trailer tire Load Rating. You will just have more weight capacity than you'd need.
The part # AM31208 is a radial tire size ST145R12 which has a wheel with a 4 bolt mounting pattern on it.
This would be a great solution for replacing your bias ply 4.80-12 tire size.
