I have a 2009 Ford Focus SES 2 door coupe. Will this hold a kayak securely? Im concerned that there will be too short a span between front and back straps with it being only a 2 door.

These foam pad kayak carriers like the part # RL100K10 are a great temporary solution, but if you are looking for a solid rack to use regularly on your 2009 Ford Focus you'd be better served by first installing a roof rack like the Inno part numbers # INB117, # INSUT, # INJK, and # INK571.
Then you could use a J-style carrier like the # TH834 which will be very secure.
