I do have a solution for you, however the Saris Bones 3 Bike Carrier # SA803 referenced in your question is not confirmed to fit your 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK350 Convertible.
I instead recommend looking at the Hollywood Racks Baja 3 Bike Carrier # HRE3. This carrier is confirmed to fit your vehicle and can support up to 3 bikes at 35 pounds each. It features sturdy anti-sway cradles with soft rubber straps to secure your bikes. 4 foam pads on the rack base will help protect your vehicle's finish when in use. I recommend adding the etrailer.com Cable Lock # e98891 to secure your bikes to the rack and the Thule Passive Security Strap # TH533 to secure the rack to your CLK350.
If you plan on carrying any children's, woman's or alternative frame bikes, an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01 might be needed for level transport.
