When installing the Roadmaster MX Base Plate Kit, item # 199-6, on your 2004 Chevrolet 1500 Avalanche, you will need to gain access to the mounting area by removing the front grille and bumper. You will also need to remove the front tow hooks.
The Z66 package may require removal of other parts, but at this time we do not have any information on this package option for your truck, if you can send me your VIN number my contact at Roadmaster can verify the fit and compatibility for your truck and let us know if there are any other parts that need to be removed for installation.
We normally allow 5 hours for a complete base plate installation. If you are installing base plates for the first time and do not have access to a lift to ease the installation, I would allow for a full day.
