Question:

I am looking for a hitch on a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country. I have looked at both the Curt and Drawtite hitches on the website. I was wondering if one or the other of these options would have a lower profile from bottom of vehicle. I have a very steep driveway that can cause the tendency to scrape the muffler when reversing out to street. Therefore, Im trying to find a hitch that would have the smallest vertical profile to reduce the chance of the hitch scraping the ground when reversing out of driveway. Please let me know if there would be one hitch better than the other for this situation. Thank you for your help.

We have actually installed both Curt Trailer Hitch Receivers, parts # C12264 and # 13364, as well as both Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receivers, parts # 36455 and # 75579, on similar 2012 Chrysler Town and Countrys. Out of all 4 of those choices the Draw-Tite Class II 1-1/4 inch receiver # 36455 offers the most ground clearance at 13 inches. This receiver has a max Gross Trailer Weight of 3,500 lbs and a max Tongue Weight of 300 lbs.

If you need wiring for your Town and Country I recommend going with the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56331 which will give you a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector.
