Which Size Thule Motion XT Cargo Box has Least Wind Resistance on a 2011 Subaru Tribeca

Question:

Im trying to minimize wind resistance and wanted to confirm which Thule Motion XT would be the best fit for a 2011 Subaru Tribeca. Im guessing it would be the smallest one 16cu.ft with a length of 77 inches. I have fitted a Thule Sonic XXL on it but just because it can fit doesnt mean I should, right? = Thoughts or suggestions?

For the Thule Motion you are correct about the 16 cubic foot models, # TH629706 for black or # TH629707 for silver, would be the best bet to limit wind resistance on your 2011 Subaru Tribeca.

Another option is to use the Rightline hatch saddlebag # RL100B90. Since it is at the back of the vehicle it won't add any wind resistance.

And yet another option is to install a trailer hitch, # 75716, and then use an enclosed carrier such as the Yakima EXO carrier # Y62YR, or the massive GearSpace 34, # HGK819.
