Question:
Is there a special hitch for a 2010 wrx hatchback single exhaust? or is it the same as the sedan?

We have a few Class I Trailer Hitches that are confirmed to fit your 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX Hatchback with Single Exhaust. These custom fit hitches do differ from the models available for the Sedan version of your vehicle.
I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Receiver Hitch # DT24959. This Class I hitch will give you a 200 pound tongue weight and 2,000 pound towing weight capacity, although you will also want to check the vehicle capacities listed in the owner's manual, as this will likely be the limiting factor. This custom-fit hitch will not require any drilling during installation but keep in mind that the exhaust will need to be temporarily lowered. I recommend this hitch over the Curt Hitch that is also confirmed to fit your vehicle because it does not require non-trailer loads like bike racks and cargo carriers to be supported by additional stabilizing straps.
I have attached a sample installation video on a later model year Impreza that you can use for reference.
If you are interested in using a bike rack or cargo carrier with your trailer hitch, you will just need to make sure the product you choose is compatible with Class I trailer hitches. I have attached a couple of links that will take you to our available selection of bike racks and cargo carriers that will work great with this hitch.
