Question:
Hi I have a 2006 jeep grand cherokee. Im needing to hook up the electrics for a tow hitch. 118381 Tow Ready T-1 T-Connector - 4 Wire Would this part work on a UK car? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Most likely the harness # 118381 will not work with a UK vehicle, however, I do have an a couple options for you.
If they are not there, you will need to hardwire a connection using a harness like the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Socket - Vehicle End - Ergonomic Design # HM48030. You can use Quick Spice connectors like # SWC501925-1. You will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to determine the wire functions to splice into.
If you don't want to splice, you can use the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT. This kit uses zero contact interface sensors to capture the signal on the wire without splicing into it. It is powered by your battery to protect your factory wiring.
