Starting with the hitch, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Receiver Hitch, part # 75278. If the vehicle was not equipped with the tow package which included the trailer connector, you will also need the wiring harness, part # 118396 to tap into the vehicle tail light circuits. You will need a draw bar, part # 2753 and a trailer ball. For a 2 inch ball, use part # 19247 for a 1-7/8 inch ball, use part # 19260. Your trailer should have the required ball size stamped somewhere on the coupler.
My research indicates that your Relay has a 3500 lb maximum towing capacity. If the 3000 lb figure you mention represents the fully loaded weight of the trailer, you should be fine.
If you are planning on towing this trailer frequently, you might also want to consider a weight distribution system. A weight distribution system would transfer a portion of the trailers tongue weight (downward force applied to the receiver) to the front axle, greatly reducing the sag that can be experienced with the trailer hitched to the vehicle. Using a weight distribution system can also also provide improved braking and steering response. We typically figure the tongue weight of a trailer as being between 10 and 15 percent of its fully loaded weight. I would recommend the Reese Trunnion System, part # RP66540 which is designed for trailers with a tongue weight ranging from 200 to 600 lbs.
I will provide links to the products I have recommended, as well as installation instructions for the hitch and the wiring harness.
