I spoke with my contact at MagnaFlow, and he stated that there are actually 2 options for your 1992 Chevy Silverado with the 5.7 liter engine. First, the direct fit catalytic converter is # MF93476. This converter is legal in 49 states with California being the only exception.

The universal fit converter is # MF94009. This converter has different dimensions than the M309F94, but my contact stated it was correct for your truck. It, too, is 49 state approved with the exception of California.
