Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2007 Kia Sportage
Published 01/06/2009 >
Question:
I have a 2007 KIA Sportage 2WD with a 4 cylinder engine. I want to install a two hitch on it, so that I can pull my small utility trailer. I have had no trouble locating a hitch for it, however, I cant find a T connector for the trailer wiring. Everything that I have found is for the 6 cylinder model. What can I do to get my wiring ready for a trailer

We have the Upgraded Modulite Circuit Protected Wiring Harness, item # 119178KIT, that will work great on your 2007 Kia Sportage with the 4 cyl. motor. This harness needs to be hardwired into the respective tail light circuits at the rear of your vehicle.
The Plug-N-Tow (TM) Wiring Harness, item # 33925, is designed to work on the 2005 and 2006 model year Sportage, 4 or 6 cylinder, but the wiring changed for the 2007 model year vehicles. The 2007 model year 6 cylinder models can use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, item # 118401, but the 4 cylinder models do not have the factory tow package wiring at the rear of the vehicle and must be hard wired.
