Is there a Way to Adapt Flat Bar Receiver to Regular Square Receiver on a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question:
Is it possible to convert a hidden flat bar receiver with a flat bar ball mount to a 2 inch square receiver? I want to be able to attach a hitch mounted bike rack but dont like the cheap ball mounted bike racks. I measured the flat bar and as best I can tell the width of the bar was 2.5 inches and the depth of the bar was 0.75 inches. I know they dont make these any more, but am wondering if there is a way to convert them.

The only way to convert your hitch to a standard receiver would be to have one welded on. But the much safer option is to install a different hitch. I recommend Draw-Tite hitch # 36296 for the 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan because with it the receiver will be the only part visible and the receiver is tight against the bumper from better ground clearance.
