How to Carry More than 2 Bikes on a 2014 Honda Crosstour that Can Only have a Class I Trailer Hitch

Question:

Do you make a hitch with a 2 inch receiver for Honda crosstoor? Our bike rack needs this. I know they make adapters, but would rather not use. Had one for our Honda CR-V. Thanks.

All of the trailer hitches for the 2014 Honda Crosstour are Class I, 1-1/4 inch hitches. Manufacturers do not make a 2 inch hitch for your vehicle. Like you said there are adapters, # HTAD. However the use of an adapter reduces the tongue weight capacity by 50 percent. For the hitches for the Crosstour, # C11002 and # 24852, the tongue weight capacity will be reduced to 100 pounds. Also on a Class I hitch you are limited to carrying 2 bikes maximum even if the bike rack holds more and even if there is enough capacity for more.

You can carry up to 3 bikes by using a trunk mount bike rack such as the Passage # TH911XT. But to carry additional bikes the remaining option is a roof rack using the following parts:

Feet and bars # RREB126B
Feet # RRRLKVA
Adapter # RREB-FK1
Fit kit # DK231

Then you could use bike rack # RBC035.
