Yes, the Derale Replacement Push-In Probe for Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat # D16760 does get inserted into the radiator core between the fins.

This is a replacement probe for either the Derale Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat with Push-In Radiator Probe # D16759 or the Derale Single-Fan Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat with Thread-In Radiator Probe # D16779. Both of which can be set to turn on when the temperature reads anywhere between 150 to 240 degrees and will shut off once the temperature drops 10 degrees.
