Why does your custom fit plug have both oem plugs male and female and the one from nissan only has the male end going to 4 pin trailer plug just curious cuz after install of factory nissan harness the brake pin on 4pin didnt show voltage or light up test lead any thoughts oh n do u have to apply brakes for voltage to show at 4pin thanks

There are 2 different wiring situations for the 2006 Nissan Frontier. To determine which is the correct harness, you will need to determine whether or not your Frontier has a factory tow package. The Plug-N-Tow Wiring Harness, # 33525, will plug in between the male and female end of one of the sets of connectors underneath your 2006 Nissan Frontier. You will need to look behind the rear bumper on the driver side frame rail for the connection point.
If your Frontier has the factory tow package, then you would need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118263, to make the connection at the rear of the vehicle. It is possible this connector will have a cap on it, so it might look different until you remove the cap. If this connector is there you should remove the cap and test the circuits with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993, to be sure all wiring to the connector is complete. If so, then the # 118399 connector is the one you will need. You should get left turn and brake, right turn and brake, taillight and ground functions on the factory connector. I have included a link to the installation details below.
The factory connector will only show a signal (voltage) when the corresponding function is engaged. For example, when testing the brake light/turn signal pin, the brakes will have to be engaged or the turn signal turned on. The same goes for the running light function.
