Can a 2012 equinox 4 cylinder pull a small light weight camper

I checked the owner's manual for a 2012 Chevy Equinox and found that the 4 cylinder models have a 1,500 pound towing capacity if the trailer has brakes. If the trailer does not have brakes it is limited to 1,000 pounds gross trailer weight. So it can tow provided that the gross trailer weight capacity is within the capacities listed above.

Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 36408 is a great choice for your Equinox but it is limited to the capacity of the vehicle. I have linked a video showing installation for you. The recommended ball mount is # 36051 and for a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19257 or # 19258 for a 2 inch ball.

And for trailer wiring you can use # 118494 to add a 4-Way flat trailer connector to the rear of the vehicle. I have linked a video showing how the wiring installs as well.
