Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes that Are Activating but Not Stopping Trailer

Question:
2 axle trailer. i can apply vehicle brakes or brake controller or pull the breakaway switch and they all apply power to all 4 wheel magnets but brakes due not engage. if i remove magnet from wheel and apply 12 volts will the magnet energize and will a metal object stick to it? can all 4 magnets go bad at once? confused!!! Thanks

Sounds like you installed new brakes and they aren't wanting to grab and stop your trailer. Most likely you just need to adjust the assemblies so that they will actually grab. If they are self-adjusting brakes all you would need to do is make several brake applications with the trailer moving and they will set themselves.
