Question:
I would like to find out what a good product would be for an electric braking system for a 2004 Ford Expedition, Eddie Bauer. It came with the tow package pre-installed, however I am a little confused with which product is a good fit for it. I dont regularly tow anything, however I need it for some lightweight towing for things like a hitch type RV, etc. Do you have any suggestions/recommendations, Thanks in advance for all your help.

I can help you pick out the right brake controller for you and your 2004 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition.
I recommend the Tekonsha P3 # 90195, because of its easy user interface. The P3 is a proportional brake controller which means it senses how the tow vehicle is slowing or stopping and applies the trailer's brakes with the same intensity. It also has a full display screen instead of codes that need deciphering. The Tekonsha P2 # 90885 is like the P3's little brother, it has all the great qualities but the display of the P2 isn't as user friendly. Both the Tekonsha units will work great with the electric brakes on your trailer.
If you have a factory installed 7-way on your Expedition you will want the # 3035-P plug-in wiring harness for the P2 or P3 brake controllers. This will simply plug into the port on your vehicle under the dash and then into the brake controller.
If you happen to only have a factory 4-way to be able to tow a trailer with brakes and have them function you will need a 7-way plug. For this I would recommend the # ETBC7, because it comes with all the parts you will need to wire up your Explorer for a brake controller, even a circuit tester.
I have linked all the above mentioned parts to this page for your convenience as well as an installation video on a 2004 Ford Explorer for you to check out.
