Question:
My garage has a 10.5 foot ceiling. What is the maximum recommended ceiling height? Is there a way to drop this down to a more reachable height? Or would you recommend a stepladder? Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Saris and they do not have a certain maximum ceiling height listed for the Cycle Glide Bike Storage System # SA6020.
To determine if the storage system will work well with your ceiling height, you can take the height measurement of your bike and add 6 inches, for the height of the system. This will help you determine how far down off the ceiling your bike will hang.
There is not a recommended way to drop the system to a more reachable height. The tracks need to be mounted to the garage's ceiling joists.
If the bikes are not reachable from the ground with your 10-1/2 foot ceiling, I recommend a system like the Gear Up Bike Hoist System, Up and Away, # GU40025 to store your bikes on the ceiling. The Up and Away # GU40025 will allow you to raise and lower your bikes with a pulley system. This system will work with up to 12 foot ceilings and bikes up to 50 pounds. For bikes under 75 pounds, you can use # GU40026.
