Can Tire Chains be Used in the State of New York

The information we have for New York states that when a snow emergency has been declared tire chains are actually a requirement on vehicles. You will need to check your local DOT to be sure, but with as severe of a winter as New York can get tire chains would be perfectly fine.
You wouldn't want to use them on dry pavement though. That would damage the roads and I am sure there are laws against that in your area as well.
