The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 56094 is not designed to fit your 2016 Colorado, but I do have a solution for you.
I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector, part # HM11141164. This harness simply plugs into the vehicle wiring located behind the tail lights on your Colorado. You will need to run the hot lead wire to the positive battery post to complete the installation.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
