Can 7-Way Trailer Connector On 2014 Ram 3500 Still Be Used When Installing Hopkins Backup Camera

Question:
Hello I have a 2014 Ram 3500 SLT crew cab with 8ft bed dual rear wheels. It already has a 7 pin in bed trailer wiring installed code 41157. Will this backup camera work for my truck and will I be able to have both the camera and the trailer wiring hooked up at the same time? Thank you.

I have great news for you. The Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, part # HM50002 plugs in-line with your 7-way trailer harness and lets you retain the use of the trailer connector.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
