Brake Controller Wired Color Code on a 2010 Ford F-150

Question:
I am installing a Draw-tite Activator into my 2010 F-150. The truck came with a brake controller wiring kit plug on one end for dash connect and 4 wires. I need to know how to match the black/blue/red/white wire from brake controller to the blue/green/red/white wires in the supplied f-150 connector

The wires from your truck will match up to the wires from the brake controller # 5504 as follows:
Truck Red to BC Black
Truck Green to BC Red
Truck White to BC White
Truck Blue to BC Blue
Ford quit using the green wire and instead had a pink. They may have gone back to the old code, but I would not know why. The best thing to do is use a circuit tester to test the wires on your truck. Whichever wire has power all the time will go to black on controller. Which ever has power only when pedal is pressed will go to the red wire on controller. Ford has always done white for ground and blue for brake output just like on the controllers. I would just use a circuit tester to check the red and green wires on the truck.
