Question:
I am looking at Installing Brake Controller on a 2008 Fleetwood Motorhome Ford Chassis. The MH already has the 7 pin connector at the rear of the coach. Can you spec the part number for the controller and the harness pigtail I will need? Also can you tell me where the prewired harness is located. Im assuming its under the dash around the steering column. Also, is there any wiring required in the fuse box i.e.. the red hot that feeds the trailer like on a GM vehicle.

On Ford F-53 and F-59 chassis built before the 2012 model year on which motor homes are built the brake controller plug is location up under the dash behind the instrument cluster. It is not easy to reach. I have included a picture showing its location.
I recommend the P2 brake controller # 90885 for ease of use and reliability. You will also need wiring harness # 3035-P if the factory connector is a 6-pin or # 3034-P if the factory connector is more than a 6-pin.
There should not be any other wiring or steps needed once the controller is mounted and plugged into the vehicle.
