Recommended Replacement Wheel/Tire Combo for Thule Adventure 1500 Trailer

Question:
I have a Thule Adventure 1500 trailer. It is the 3.5 x 5 with the lid and caries about 1000b. I want to replace the old rusting steel wheels with Aluminum ones. Current set is 145/80 13 with a 4 x 4 bolt pattern. I did not see this combo on your website, but also know there is a variety of wheel/tire combos that will work. So do you have any recommendations? Thanks

The 145/80-13 is an automotive tire. We recommend using trailer tires on a trailer, because they're built with thicker sidewalls that do a better job of withstanding the vertical load applied by the trailer.
The # AM3S101 is a ST175/80-13 Load Range B tire mounted on a 13 x 5 aluminum rim with a 4 lug on 4 inch bolt circle. Each tire has a 1100lb weight capacity, so you'll have plenty of capacity. Keep in mind that if the trailer capacity is lower than the tire's load rating, you'll need to abide by the lower rating. The ST175/80-13 would be just shy of two inches taller than the tires you're using now, which would bring the tire just under one inch closer to the underside of the fender. We like to see at least 3-4 inches of clearance between the top of the tire and the underside of the fender when the trailer is fully loaded.
I've linked you to the # AM3S101 Wheel/Tire combo and our Trailer Tire FAQ article that you might find helpful.
