The overall width of trailer hitch # 41906 is 41-1/2 inches. I have included a picture showing this and other measurements for the hitch.

This is a custom fit hitch so if you have a 1992 to 2014 Ford full-size van (E series) then this hitch will fit.

If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK2216. It comes with a ball mount with a 1 inch rise or 2 inch drop, 2 balls, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

For wiring, to ensure you get the right harness, I would need to know the specific year of your Ford van.
