Question:
Well, we are in possession of a Thule system for 2008 Honda CRV two sets of j-racks for two Old Town kayaks. But we traded to a 2012 and they never made the feet to connect. Now we have a 2015 CRV and we need new feet, but a new problem has cropped up: bad shoulders for heaving kayaks up and into the cradle of the J. And possibly too tall a car. We havent found a shorter car we want We hoped there was a back sliding up type of carrier, but only see the glide one with rollers, for one kayak. The side loading one looks pretty swell, but it is costly to get two. Any suggestions??

There are a couple factors for finding the correct feet for your roof rack. The foot pack will depend on the style roof on your 2015 CRV.
If your CRV has a naked roof, without rails along the side you want Evo clamp feet # TH710501 with the fit kit # TH145108.
If your CRV has the flush mount side rails you will want the foot pack # TH460R, with the fit kit # THKIT3118.
If you need replacement brackets to install the Thule Hull-A-Port J-style Carrier # TH834 to your crossbars, the replacement part is # 853-5837.
One option for helping to load your kayaks on to your crossbars is the Rhino-Rack Universal Side Loader # RR-RUSL. The Side Loader is designed to work with a variety of crossbars, including the Thule SquareBars and Thule WingBars. Because of its design, the Side Loader will fit the crossbars on either side of your vehicle, eliminating the need to buy two load extender bars. However, my contact at Rhino Rack said that if your J-style carriers mount to the outside of your crossbars, it is likely that they will interfere with the Universal Side Loader.
Another option to help you load your kayaks on your roof rack would be a tire step or platform step. The HitchMate TireStep Adjustable Step # HE4040 is a great option for a tire step. If you're interested in a platform step, the part # SASXL-08C-Y is a good option.
