Question:
I have a 2012 Ford Transit Connect with a wheelchair lift installed. How much of the receiver will extend beyond the bumper. I have 4 inches between bumper and lift gate. I am looking at towing a kayak trailer, occasionally.

My first question is where is the wheelchair lift mounted? Because it could use the same mounting area/locations as a trailer hitch would. It might be a moot point though because with a trailer hitch installed, such as # 75678, the receiver will be directly below the rear fascia, with the cross tube also taking up some space in that general area, and that would interfere with the lift. Take a look at the diagram that shows what I mean.
What I recommend is to install a roof rack on top of your 2012 Ford Transit Connect. the most cost effect model that will fit is from Rhino-Rack using crossbars and leg kit # RLZ01-DC. I have linked a video showing how it installs.
Then you could use a kayak carrier such as # RR571 to carry the kayak. I have included a link to a video review of this kayak carrier for you.
