Question:
Hi, I have a 2015 4x4 Ram 2500 crew cab with no rails with 6.5inch bed with an ARE campershell with the ARE tracks. I am looking for a setup to load/transport a Hobie 2015 Outfitter. The boat is 90LB with no accessories. I am looking for a side loading device as I also pull a trailer. It seems Rhino is the only company rated to hold the weight of the Hobie. ? The side arm removable extension seems like a good idea, but I am not sure that the truck is not too tall for one person to load if need be. I am female and 58 Thanks in advance.

First, I recommend checking the weight capacity of your ARE Camper Shell. We will want to make sure that your shell will be able to support the weight of your boat, kayak carrier, and crossbar system.
For your camper shell, I recommend the TracRac CapRac # TH29200XT for your 2015 Ram 2500. This rack will hold up to the maximum capacity of your camper shell. This rack weight approximately 26 pounds. I have attached an installation video of this rack on a GMC Sierra for you to have an idea of what the installation will require.
To help you load your kayak, I recommend the Rhino Rack Universal Side Loader # RR-RUSL. This load assist comes with different brackets to allow you to hook the padded bar on crossbars of all sizes. The supportive arm on this side loader extends to approximately 7 feet to accommodate vehicles of many sizes. When measuring to ensure that this bar will be long enough, remember to take into account the additional height of the crossbars. The TracRac CapRac will add 5-1/2 inches to the top of your camper shell.
To secure the bow and stern of your kayak, you will want to use bow and stern tie-downs like # Y04031. Then the Malone Hood Loops MPG308 make it easier for you to find tie-down points for the bow and stern of your kayak. They tuck into your hood or hatch to give you an easy place to attach without harming your vehicle.
To give yourself a boost to be able to secure your kayak on top of your camper shell, you can use a tire step, such as the HitchMate TireStep Adjustable Step # HE4040. This step fits around your tire to allow you to reach on top of your vehicle.
