Im looking for a 2inch hitch receiver for a 2006 Outback Impreza Sport wagon. Is this available or is an adapter required? Ill only use for a bike rack, so Id prefer to avoid an adapter. Best,

The only hitch receiver available for your 2006 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon is going to be a Class I with a 1-1/4 inch opening like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C11497. The frame on your Impreza is not able to handle the towing capacities of the higher class of hitch so they do not make a 2-inch hitch for your vehicle.
Since it sounds like you already own a bike rack that is designed for a 2-inch hitch you would need an adapter like part # HTAD to be able to use it with the 1-1/4 inch hitch. Please do keep in mind that using an adapter will reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent meaning that you would now only have 100 lbs to work with, including the weight of your bike rack.
My personal recommendation would be to invest in an economical bike rack like the Curt # C18085, which can be used with the 1-1/4 inch hitch and sell your current bike rack to offset some of the cost of the new rack.
