Question:
I have a s13ft. Scamp trailer with el. Brakes. I just got a 2015 Tacoma....I am wanting a brake control that basically takes care of everything. I am new at this and feel uncomfortable at trying to adjust the brakes. What is the best for this?

Our customers have told us again and again with their purchase decisions and product reviews that the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 trailer brake controller, part # 90885, is easy to set-up and operate and is supremely reliable. This is a superbly engineered brake controller that is a snap to use.
Installation method will depend on whether or not your Tacoma has a factory-installed 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper. If you do have a 7-way then installation will require only the controller itself # 90885 and a quick-connect wiring adapter # 3040-P. If you do not have a factory 7-way then you will not use the adapter but instead our brake controller install kit # ETBC7. This requires that you have a 4-pole harness in place; if you do not have one of these you can use # C55513 which is an easy plug-in installation.
Install videos for this 4-pole harness, the # ETBC7 kit and the P2 are linked for you.
The Prodigy P2 controller is a proportional type which provides activation of the trailer brakes in direct proportion to the braking force on the Tacoma, which means that braking will feel more natural and consistent. Braking force is easy to adjust during your initial set-up.
