I have a Honda Civic Sedan 2012- need bike rack for occasional use for womans and a kids bike what is the best product to fit my needs.

If your 2012 Honda Civic is equipped with a trailer hitch, the best option would be to go with a hitch mounted carrier like the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack, # S63360. This rack is economical and offers great features like anti-sway cradles and anti-rattle threaded hitch pin.
If you Civic is not equipped with a hitch, your best option would be to go with one of our trunk mounted racks. I have included a link to those that have been confirmed to fit your vehicle. My absolute favorite is the Thule OutWay 2-Bike Rack, # TH45JV. This bike rack uses 2 rubber straps to attach the rack firmly to your vehicle's trunk or rear hatch which allow the rack to be installed or removed in a matter of seconds. The mounting cables are lockable and the rack also includes an integrated cable lock to deter theft. I have included a short video for you.
In either case, you may find it easier to secure the bikes by using an adapter bar like the Swagman Easy-Out, # 64005. This bar attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem on your bike to give you a horizontal surface to secure to.
