Towing 5th Wheel Trailer with Ford F-350 That Has a 8 x 9-foot Flatbed and Goose Neck Hitch

Question:
I currently have a 2000 F350 dual with an 8x9 park hurst square flatbed I have approximately 72inch from center of the ball to the corner. I am currently running a pop up RV4 are there any other good options as we are getting a new camper. As of right now we will be transferring our current pin box over to the new rig so no welding or cutting needs to be done.

Since you need to tow your new 5th wheel with a goose neck-equipped truck you may be able to avoid the need for installing a 5th wheel hitch like the Reese Low-Profile # RP30054. Your best option may be to install a replacement pin box called a Goose Box, made by Reese, that allows 5th wheel trailers to be pulled by a goose neck hitch.
A Goose Box such as one of the three units shown on the linked page bolts on in place of a standard 5th wheel pin box. There may be a bolt-on replacement Goose Box pin box for your existing unit.
For example, part # RP85FR is rated for 20K and is a direct bolt-on replacement for several popular Lippert pin boxes. You can check your current pin box manufacturer and part number to see if a replacement goose box is offered.
The linked diagram shows the recommended minimum clearances for towing and you can use this as a guide to compare to your new trailer.
