Can I let cargo bag sit on top of the glass?

An empty cargo bag by itself would be fine resting on top of a glass sunroof. But the weight of cargo could be an issue so I would not recommend that. The glass was not designed to support additional weight. Since the picture you submitted shows a vehicle with a roof rack I would recommend you use a cargo basket and then put the bag in it.
The Curt cargo basket part # C18115 would be an excellent cargo basket to use. The dimensions of it are 41-1/2" long x 37" wide x 4" deep. I attached a review video for more info for you to check out as well. This would work great with the # TH868.
