Brake Controller Recommendation for a Freightliner FL-60 Towing Trailer with Electric Brakes

Question:
is the HA100400C as good as the Hayes brake controller. I am going to install it in a 2000 Frieghtliner FL-60. Or should i use a Jackalope System?

The Hayes # HA100400C is a brake controller so I am not sure how to answer your first question. It is a proportional controller that works the same as any other proportional trailer brake controller.
As long as your Freightliner has a 12 volt electrical system a much easier to use and less expensive option would be a proportional electric brake controller like the part # 90885. This controller uses an accelerometer to sense the amount of braking your vehicle is doing and will apply the brakes proportionately.
