Options for Towing a Fifth Wheel Trailer with a Flatbed Truck with Gooseneck Hitch
Question:
Looking to install a 5th wheel hitch onto my CM SK flatbed body. it has a gooseneck thats in a 15x15 box, recessed 4. what type of hitch could I make work and would I have to remove this recessed box as I belive it would be in the way. I would prefer a 5th wheel hitch but would you reccomend a gooseneck adapter. Will be pulling a 2012 fuzion 360 5th wheel

It would take a very custom install that would require a qualified fabricator to come up with a way to attach the rails to the frame of your truck. Typically for flat bed trucks we recommend the Reese Low Profile Fifth Wheel Hitch part # RP30054 that you referenced as it is lower in height and works well on flat bed trucks but also requires a custom install. Check out the install instructions I attached for this hitch to the right as well.
A much easier solution would be a gooseneck hitch to fifth wheel adapter like the # CAB-C5G. This will attach to the pin box of your trailer and then will allow the gooseneck hitch you currently have to tow your trailer. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
